Abstract
This study investigates the micro-drivers of the well-established cross-sectional correlation between firm-level job separations and productivity. This survey asks for your views on the drivers of labor turnover. A well-established fact in labor economics is the negative cross-sectional relationship between firm productivity and worker separation rates. We seek expert opinions on whether this relationship is primarily driven by voluntary quits (Q) or involuntary layoffs (L).
