Economic studies highlight the influence of media exposure on behavior across diverse domains such as crime, health, education, and finance. However, the mechanisms driving behavior change through media remain unclear. This study provides evidence for the behavioral change and tests three hypothesized channels (a) information provision, (b) role modeling and preference change via emotional connections, and (c) increased salience and basic awareness.
